GAIL SCHERER

Woodsong Alpacas

Blue Ridge, Georgia

Steve and Gail became interested in alpacas after Gail took a yarn spinning class and was invited to the farm to see the alpacas.  After looking for several years for animals to have on their small farm, it was clear  the search was over.   Gail visited many farms and developed a bond with the owners of Lasso the Moon Alpacas in Blairsville, Georgia.  There they purchased the first animals of their small herd.  They are members of the Alpaca Owners Association and Georgia Alpaca Association.

Steve and Gail's farm is in the mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia.  Click on the link at the bottom of the page that says Woodsong Alpacas to find out more about their farm.

CLASSES AT THE FARM WILL BEGIN SOON.

KNITTING AND SPINNING GROUPS ARE ENCOURAGED TO COME OUT TO THE FARM FOR THEIR GET-TOGETHERS!

SurCaya FIBERS  is a blend of fibers from Rosalie's suri alpacas and Gail's huacaya alpaas.   Suri alpacas have a heavy silky fiber that has a beautiful luster and drape to it.  The huacay alpaca has a lighter, fluffier fiber that gives the product air and makes it loftier.  The blending of these two fibers makes a beautiful fiber with luster and drape along with a lighter, airier feel.

Although these animals offer beautiful fiber on their own, Rose and Gail are also a  fusion of the two types of alpaca fiber blended with additional fibers such as yak, various wools, angora, cashmere, silk, bamboo, and other wonderful choices.

These exciting creations offer the knitter, crocheter, spinner, weaver and felter an exciting avenue for their creativity!!
